Optimize investment and expand revenue potential

AFL delivers affordable, scalable
Metro E solutions

Multiple service operators (MSOs) across the U.S. are looking for affordable ways to increase bandwidth capacity for business customers without investing heavily in new infrastructure. Demand to quickly move voice, video, and other data traffic over existing infrastructure to new customers requires a partner that understands the intricacies of Ethernet-based networks. That's why the leading MSO’s rely on AFL for Metro Ethernet (Metro E) solutions that deliver improved bandwidth and support a scalable growth rate, enabling expansion where it is needed at the network edge.

Close relationships with leading Metro E providers enable AFL to develop tested, proven solutions that streamline delivery to market. With a flexible mix of products and vendor-managed inventory options, AFL helps its customers optimize investment and expand revenue potential while rapidly delivering secure point-to-point and multi-point connectivity, customer service and satisfaction.

Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) Products

CWDM technology is a cost effective network expansion alternative to installing more fiber. AFL’s passive CWDM products deliver reliable performance and flexibility for network growth over existing fiber. A compact design provides deployment options that work with the operator’s embedded base. Low insertion loss, high uniformity and high thermal stability add predictability and reliability to the the upgrade design and implementation.

Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) modules

DWDM technology offers operators up to 44 channels per fiber to serve the most densly saturated serving areas, while still proving to be a more cost effective expansion alternative to installing more fiber in most cases. AFL’s passive DWDM products are scalable and offer many innovative ways to manage channel plans and groupings, ensuring that reliable and predictable traffic flow.

AFL understands that the same WDM technologies that make agile Metro E services possible also present complex testing challenges. In response to watching technicians and engineers struggling with legacy WDM measurement products, we’ve developed innovative new products, like the WDM900 Lightwave Test Set, that incorporate exclusive features designed to simplify WDM testing and enable even first time users to identify, document and resolve the cause of Metro Ethernet performance issues and outages.
